Vikings Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Thursday, September 02, 2010
The Vikings arrived in Mankato for training camp with big expectations. Coming off a heart-breaking loss to New Orleans in the NFC title game, Brad Childress' team appeared to be missing only one piece to the puzzle—and that was expected to be a short-term situation. Brett Favre, who had joined the Vikings in mid-August in 2009, was again absent in late July when practices began but it was considered more of a charade than a reality that he was debating whether to play a 20th NFL season. Otherwise, all of the Vikings starters from last season were back, with the exception being that cornerback Cedric Griffin wouldn't be ready because of a torn ACL suffered against the Saints. If everything went according to plan, Tarvaris Jackson, Sage Rosenfels and...

Packers have the goods to copy Saints' magic (SportingNews.com)
Wednesday, September 01, 2010
The NFL is a copycat league, and most everyone wants to be a carbon copy of one team in particular -- last season's Super Bowl champions. The New Orleans Saints won it all with the combination of an explosive, high-scoring offense and an aggressive defense. In the unpredictable NFC, they also were the conference's ninth different champion in as many years. Based on that formula, the Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings can be considered strong contenders.

Vikings backup quarterbacks still aspire to start (AP)
Wednesday, September 01, 2010
Once again, Brett Favre has stolen the show -- and all the playing time -- in Minnesota and relegated the backup quarterbacks to irrelevance. So Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels try to take advantage of every throw in practice and preseason games, soaking up as much of the playbook as they can in case Favre's record-setting consecutive-games streak suddenly ends.

Tuesday, August 31, 2010
Eric Decker is eager for his return to Minnesota, even if the stadium he'll be playing in doesn't excite him. Vikings place Sidney Rice on PUP list (SportingNews.com)
Tuesday, August 31, 2010
The Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday placed wide receiver Sidney Rice on the physically unable to perform list. Rice, who is recovering from hip surgery, will miss at least the first six games. Rice, a third-year pro, led the Vikings last season with 83 receptions and 1,312 yards. He also caught eight touchdown passes. Minnesota's overall receiving situation is shaky. No. 2 receiver Percy Harvin has missed most of the preseason because of migraine headaches, and Bernard Berrian has been unimpressive.
